Klimkovice Sanatorium

The Klimkovice Sanatorium is one of the newest sanatoriums in the Czechia, providing health care for adults and children alike. It treats musculoskeletal and neurological diseases. The sanatorium has been delivering high‑quality rehabilitation care since 1994.

The team, composed of physicians, physiotherapists, and other health professionals, aims to help each patient in the sanatorium to overcome their health issues and rehabilitate. In addition to modern treatment and diagnostic devices, there are also natural resources in the form of saltwater rich in bromine and iodine; these waters contain a high and special amount of effective minerals and iodine. The unique environment around the sanatorium promotes full harmony of body and spirit. Although the land of the resort is located just a few kilometers from Ostrava, it is surrounded by attractive nature on the slopes of hills and enjoys clear air.

The Klimkovice Sanatorium is equipped with modern facilities to provide patients (adults) with medical, nursing, and rehabilitative care for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. It is considered unique and leading especially in the field of children and adolescents.

Diseases of the muscles and bones and neurological disorders are treated, including cerebral palsy, congenital and acquired conditions, spinal and joint issues. This is made possible using therapeutic and rehabilitative methods such as the Vojta method, the Bobath concept, the Kabat method, localized therapy, and motor skills training. Patients make noticeable progress through reduced spasticity, improved movement, increased immunity, mastering basic motor functions, and better fine motor skills.

Classic Treatment Program

The classic program consists of bromine‑iodine baths, individual exercise (30 minutes), occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, heat therapy, and physiotherapy.

KLIM‑THERAPY Program

This program is based on an intensive daily 2½‑hour exercise using special techniques to maintain bodily stability. That stability significantly enhances the therapeutic effect on the affected neurological system. This program suits adult patients who suffer from brain injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy, and children with cerebral palsy, developmental disorders that cause motor issues, brain damage due to inflammatory diseases, and stroke, as well as movement disorders.

CI Therapy (Constraint‑Induced Therapy) Program

This program relies on a unique mix of rehabilitation techniques that significantly reduce limb impairment in patients with brain damage or after a stroke. The core of this therapy is intensive repetitive use of the impaired limbs, normalizing their function as much as possible.

The Klimkovice Sanatorium offers comfortable accommodation in single rooms, double rooms, and suites. All rooms and suites were entirely renovated in 2012 and 2013 to offer maximum comfort to guests. Most rooms are fully disabled‑accessible, which provides great convenience for wheelchair users. The building is rated as a 3‑star hotel.

Each room is equipped with a private bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, and internet. There is a restaurant providing meals for guests, offering buffet‑style dining with attention to dietary needs for diabetes, gallbladder conditions, etc. A special diet can be arranged for guests wishing so. All meat is halal, slaughtered according to Islamic rules. There is also Arabic coffee and a wide selection of tea and coffee. A prayer room for Muslims is available too.
